What a good sport!

I know Tayven is only 3 weeks old but he is sure a good sport and sure puts up well with his sister!  He just fell asleep as she was piling her toys on top of him.  I'm so glad that she's so willing to play and share with her little brother!  I think they'll become the best of friends soon enough.

And I just wanted to say something about the last post about 11 truths of having 2 kids.  It did seem a little negative and I think it gave the wrong impression as some seemed to think that life was really hard for me right now.  To be honest, having one kid (a Kyla) was way harder than having 2. I am so grateful for Hyrum in making the transition so easy for all of us.  He helps out with EVERYTHING and is so patient.  Even when he's extremely tired and has to work early in the morning, he's still so willing to help out with Tayven in the middle of the night. I have felt so blessed to have such an easy time with the transition of 2 children.  Yeah laundry and dishes don't get done 1/2 the time (the other 1/2 the time Hyrum does them! hehe) but that's okay!  Yeah, Kyla picks on her little brother, but that's okay too.  She really does listen well most of the time and tries her hardest to be careful.  Yeah, sometimes Kyla is put down late for a nap, doesn't even get a nap at all or is put down later for bed time because Tayven is eating or fussing and I can't get to putting her down...Yeah, sometimes I have to hold Tayven and entertain Kyla while I'm making dinner or lunch and it may get burnt...so what!  Life truely is wonderful and I love every minute of being a mother!  Anyway, so no need to worry about us because we really are doing VERY well and things aren't as bad as the blog post made it seem.  In fact, all the laundry is put away and there are no dishes in the sink!  Talk about accomplishment!  :) But yeah...just wanted to let you know that life is great!

11 Truths about Life with 2 Kids

1. It's very BUSY.  If you like to multi-task, now is the time you'll be putting it to good use!

2. Laundry has more than doubled and never seems to be put away...ever.  This causes stress because I can never find any clothes to wear for myself or the kids without having to dig through the pile to find something that matches.

3. It's a HUGE accomplishment if I can get completely ready for the day before noon...if at all!

4. While you're holding a baby, you have to figure out ways to entertain a very emotional and temperamental toddler (like I said...multi-task!).

5. While feeding a baby, you have to figure out ways to give hugs to the very emotional and temperamental toddler without her stepping on or trying to push the baby away.

6. If you step into the other room for just one second you have to make sure you keep checking up on both kids so the before mentioned toddler doesn't step on, drop or hurt the baby.

7. Dishes pile up in the sink and never get done unless you have no dishes to eat on anymore and it becomes a priority.  However, once it does become a priority you have 2 crying kids that need something so you end up never getting them done anyway.

8. Even though you're extremely exhausted and sleep deprived, you still somehow manage to make it through the day in one piece without any time for naps.

9. Even though you are grouchy and emotional and are a little meaner than usual to your toddler, she still manages to help out, play by herself sometimes, laughs, gives hugs and says, "I love you."

10. Because of being sleep deprived and emotional...and just because once you have a kid you become spacey and completely out of it anyway, you forget the diaper bag when going out and have 2 screaming children.  One who wants a snack or a drink and the other who wants a Binky, diaper change, new clothes, needs to be burped and needs a spit-up rag.

11. You still can manage to love 2 children even more than you ever thought was possible and who you think are perfect, beautiful, and amazing little angels through out everything else going on.  The love you feel for your children surely makes everything worthwhile!

Now what am I going to do when there's 3 kids to take care of?!

**Just so you all know, being a mother of 2 children is awesome and amazing in so many ways! It's not as hard as I thought it would be, though it definitely poses new challenges and new ways of having to do things and think.  Hyrum has been an amazing help and does the dishes, and cleans the house as well as help with both kids so I've had it pretty easy. This post is not meant to be negative or to make anyone scared to have more than one child!  Its purpose was to show what hass been happening in my life in a somewhat humorous manner. :) **

Kyla has been begging to go outside lately so the other day we took her to the Splash Park that just opened up for the summer.  She was a little hesitant at first but eventually got a little wet and started enjoying it.  The more we go this summer, the more brave she'll become I think.

A Week Full of Firsts

This week has been awesome!  My mom and brother came up to help out with the new transition from one to two kids.  Kyla loved having them around and being spoiled by her Grammie.  I was able to get lots of rest and didn't have to worry about any cooking.  After a bitter sweet goodbye, they left earlier this afternoon to head back home.  Thank you SO much mom for coming and helping out!  We miss you already.  Here's some pictures of everything that went on this week.

 

We came home from the hospital Monday morning and my grandparents from Canada came by for a quick visit.

My brother Aaron was Kyla's favorite person and best friend this week.  He took her outside to play with bubbles...

...and he even played with play-doh with her!  What an awesome uncle!  He even chased her through the store a few times, played barbies and had a tea party with her.  Now you see why he was her favorite?  She definitely gave him lots of sweet hugs and kisses this week!

 

We also had brother/sister bondng time!  Doesn't Kyla look so big and grown up?!

 

Tayven went on his first outing. We went to visit Daddy at work, went to lunch and to DI (Kyla's suggestion.  hehe)

 

We also took a walk in the park which was Tayven's first ride in the stroller.  He loved it and it was nice to be outside for a bit.

Update

I know everyone has been asking to see more pictures of our sweet little Tayven so this post will be full of pictures that we've taken recently.  Tayven is such a good baby!  He hardly ever cries and when he does it's such a soft sweet whimper.  He's a very good eater and sleeper.  In fact he won't only sleep all day but a couple nights ago he slept almost all night!  He only woke up once to eat which seemed amazing to me!  Last night he woke up twice to eat which still seems pretty good.  Now, on to the pictures!

 

  

  

  

  

 

A Beautiful Son-Day Morning

Well, he's here! Tayven Boyd Denney was born this morning at 6:43 AM. He weighs 7lbs 2 ounces and is 19 inches long.

It was crazy how it all happened and here's the story. About 3 AM this morning Amiee started having contractions 3-6 minutes apart. She wanted to be at home as long as possible so we waited until it the contractions started hurting. We left our apartment about 6:20 AM and half way to the hospital Amiee's water broke. I stepped on the gas and sped the rest of the way to the hospital. We pulled up to the emergency entrance and by this time Amiee was screaming. They had a hard time finding our preregistration information but at this point it didn't really matter because the baby was coming! Three nurses literally ran while they pushed Amiee down the hall in a wheel chair. By the time we got Amiee on the hosptial bed the baby was almost here. Luckliy the doctor was already at the hospital and just down the hall. Two pushes later Tayven was born. The time was 6:43 AM. We could hardly believe it. All is well with mother and child and we are thrilled to have a new member of the family. Welcome to the world Tayven!
