In other news, I am now 28 weeks along which puts me at the start of my 3rd trimester!!  I can not believe it!  I only have about 11 weeks left….yikes!  We’re so excited to meet Tayven yet so nervous for the stress of 2 kids!  Definitely more excited than nervous though.  Any advice from all you moms of multiples out there?  How did you handle life the first few weeks of having 2 kids?  Share anything!  I’m curious. :)


Random news about Kyla:  Kyla has been known to sing the ABC song quite frequently in the last few months and knows the whole song...correctly.  We’ve been working on recognizing letters recently so I did a little test with her the other day to see how many letters of the alphabet she actually knew/recognize by herself.  Here’s the results:  A, B, C, D, E, H, I, K, M, O, T, Z.  She almost knows the letters P (she calls it B), W (she says it’s an M), Q (She says it’s an O with a tail), S (she calls it a Z) and U (she says umbrella when she sees U…at least she knows U is for umbrella!).  As for recognition of numbers she knows 1 2 and 3!  Way to go Kyla!

Artist

We've got an artist amoungst us!  Kyla not only enjoys reading for hours on end but also enjoys coloring or drawing pictures often through out the day.  She's getting so good at it!  I don't know if it was accidental or if she did these on purpose.  By "accidental" I mean she might have just been doing her normal scribble and then noticed what it looked like and told me.  By "on purpose" I mean she was thinking 'I'm going to draw this' and then drew it.  Anyway, it was probably mostly by accident but I'd say it was a pretty good accident for a 2 year old!

She drew a house and a flower!  Take a look for yourself...impressed or what? :)  I'm so proud of her!

And the Baby's name is....

 

That's right folks.  We have finally decided that our little guy's name is going to be Tayven!  We are so excited and absolutely love the uniqueness of the name.  We are the type of people who like to name our kids without a popular name.  If a name we might like has ever been in the top 100, it's out and off of our lists.  We just want them to have a cool name and be one of the only ones or one of the very few who have their very own name.  Anyway, we have never heard of Tayven before and don't know anyone with that name.  So don't go stealing it from us now...unless you wanna pay us lots of money! :)

Our Anniverary/Valentines Day Night

Hyrum and I had a VERY fun filled celebration this year!  Although our 4 year anniversary isn't until March 17th, we decided to celebrate it along with Valentines Day last night.  One reason why it was so perfect is that Grandma and Grandpa were willing to watch Kyla for us for the night. She had fun being with her grandparents and having a sleep over with them.  She didn't even want to leave when we picked her up this afternoon!  It was great because we stayed up until after 2 am last night and slept in until 10am!  I don't even remember the last time that happened. :)

During our date we went out to Johnny Carino's in Idaho Falls for dinner.  It was deeeeelish!  Afterwards we made our way back to Rexburg to catch a movie at the cheap theater called Bedtime Stories. It was a pretty good movie and very funny!  We then got a bunch of junk food and rented 2 other movies. (We like watching movies...so what?!)  We got Madagascar 2 from Redbox which was ridiculous...I definitely do NOT reccommend it.  It was a waste of time.  We watched this weeks episode of LOST online, then we also rented and watched this movie:

 

This movie was AMAZING!!!!!  I recommend this movie to everyone!!!  You definitely need a box of Kleenex's though!  It's not a chick-flick so even you're husbands will probably enjoy it.  I promise you, if you watch this movie you won't regret it.  It is soooo good.  In fact, I want to watch it again before returning it.

Hyrum and I had a lot of time to talk during our late night up which has been really nice since he's been extremely busy with school these past couple weeks.  We just had a fabulous night talking, and being together.  We feel more in love now than ever before!

 

It's so wonderful being married to an amazing person for 4 years and know that your love for each other has grown everyday and will continue to do so for eternity!  I love you Hyrum!  Happy Early Anniversary!  and Happy Valentines Day to everyone!  Hope you have fun celebrating the day of love!

Blue and Brown Set

It's definitely a different feeling when you start seeing blue in Kyla's room.  We've been so used to having her room full of pink and purple colors that we haven't known any different.  However, I found this awesome deal online for a crib set for our little guy and I couldn't pass it up. 

 

 

Kyla helped me set it up in her crib just to see what it would look like.  I am soooo in love with it!  I wanted something with blue and brown colors so it's absolutely perfect for my taste!  It came with the bumpers, sheet, skirt and comforter.  Anyway, it's back in the package for now but it's definitely getting me excited to get his side of the room ready!  We probably won't set up for a little while still, but when I do I'm sure you'll hear about it! :)

Grandma Crystal

Grandma Crystal is Hyrum's mom's mother.  She has had such a long hard battle with cancer and all the treatments that have come with it.  She sure is a fighter and an inspiration to all of us.  For the last 2 months she has been staying with Hyrum's parents and it's been so awesome to get to spend some time with her.  She left this morning to go back home and to see if any of the cancer has returned.  We have kept her in our prayers since she's been diagnosed and know that the Lord will bless her through her trials and sufferings.  We miss her already and love her so much!  Thanks for being such an amazing example and strength for us all Grandma!  We love you so much!

Dentists, Doctors, and Hormones

Today has been an exausting day full of appointments, errands, hormones and figuring out if we need more appointments with doctors, dentists, etc. 

Kyla had her usual 6 month pediatric dential visit (We see Dr. Mauseth here in Rexburg and I highly reccommend him.  He's amazing!) and of course she absolutely HATED it!  The poor dental hygenist couldn't even get her to open her mouth or look inside.  The dentist came and as he was looking in her mouth while she was screaming I was sitting there crying...completely embarrassed that I was doing such a thing!  I've never cried when Kyla has received any medical attention including shots, wellness exams, strep throat test, etc. even though she cries her little heart out every time.  I definitely blame it on the pregnancy hormones and I honestly felt completely mortified as I was sobbing.  Luckily the dentist noticed and knew I was expecting and I told him so too so he wouldn't think I was a complete weirdo, but it still wasn't very fun.  I knew Kyla was more than scared and uncomfortable and shy so I knew nothing was wrong except for that yet I still couldn't help myself!
Ugh....pregnancy in public + uncontrollable hormones=embarrassing!  

Anyway, all is well with her teeth.  Her last molars have already came in the bottom and she just needs both on the top which are almost through and then her teething experience will be over!  I bet she's happy about that. :)

We did some other errands through out the day and after her afternoon nap I took her to the doctor to check on a bubble she's had on her wrist for a couple of weeks.  I looked it up online and figured it was probably a ganglion cyst.I felt pretty smart because that's exactly what it is and I predicted exactly what the doctor would say/do to a T!  He said to do nothing and it hopefully and eventually will go away on its own.  It hasn't seemed to bother her but he said that if it starts to to bring her in and surgery may have to happen.  We hope it won't come down to that because he said it was a little complicated surgery that'll have to be done by an orthopedic surgeon so it sounds pretty expensive.  The only down side to not having the surgery I guess is that she'll have this bump on her wrist for who knows how long...months or even years until it goes away!  Weird huh?

The other debate we've been having is if we need to take her in to see the doctor yet again!  A few days ago, yesterday and twice already this evening she cries out in pain pointing to her leg thigh as if it's hurting really bad.  The first time it happened we thought maybe her leg fell asleep so didn't think much about it.  Yesterday she was coloring with her legs folded underneath her when it happened.  Today, she again was coloring with her legs folded underneath her when it occurred and then once again in the bath tub.  I wonder if it's the way she's sitting that's causing her the pain she keeps saying she's having.  She always points to the same spot and the same leg so I know she's not just pretending...and for the fact that she cries and wants to be snuggled and loved for about an hour or until it goes away.  :)  Anyway, guess we'll be taking her in again this week if it keeps happening.  Lets just hope my emotions are under control this time!

Now that this has become quite the story of our day (and believe me this is the short version...there was a few other events that happened today that I didn't mention), I am going to find something else to do in hopes that tomorrow will be a little less crazy!  Wish us luck :)

Kyla LOVES her Baby Brother!

 

 

Kyla has been so cute lately acknowledging her baby brother inside Mommy's tummy.  Here are some of the cute things she has been saying about him recently:

Just randomly through out the day she'll say, "I have a baby brother!!"
She was drawing a picture and I asked what it was and she said, "It's my baby brother."
She heard a knock at the door and I asked her, "Who is it?"  She replied by saying, "Baby Brother's coming!"
She said a prayer last night praying that "Baby brother will come soon."

In other "Baby" news, I have been having those unnecissary and uncomfortable kind of tighting of the uterine muscles lately....in other words, Braxton-Hicks or "fake" contractions.  They don't happen very often and they're not painful at all, just uncomfortable.  I seem to get them at least once a day and it's only for a minute or less.  This last week I have been getting about 2 or more a day and it's completly normal...even at 25 weeks so nobody freak out on me! :)  I just am expecting to get more uncomfortable as the weeks fly by and luckily I'm okay with that! It helps to know that there is a reason why all the uncomfortableness is happening and that reason makes everything worth it once we get to meet him and bring him home!

In the morning

One of Kyla's favorite things lately to do in the morning has been to sit up in the rocking chair with a blanket over her lap, Woody sitting next to her and reading books for long periods of time.  She seriously will do this for an hour!  It's so cute and gives me a bit of a break while she's preoccupied reading.  She has always loved books so this doesn't surprise me at all!

Another thing Kyla and I have been starting to do in the morning is yoga on the Wii Fit!  If there's one thing I haven't done much in pregnancy it's exercising!  I just always seem so tired when I think of it or would much rather be doing something different but I've been making it at the top of my to do list for a few days now and so far it's been fun.  The Wii Fit has a yoga section in it so it's been really good to stretch my muscles and get my body a little more prepared for labor in only 3 months!  I'm sure the next 3 months is going to fly by so I hope I can keep this up...or have it get a little warmer out so I can actually start taking walks again.
