New Haircut

I was planning on growing my hair out but I was just getting so sick of it! Ever since my hair has been short, I've loved it. I feel more confident, pretty and just all around better about myself. So yesterday I went and got it cut to be short again! I definitely feel SOOOO much better and happier....not that I wasn't happy before, but you get my point I hope. :) Be honest and let me know which cut YOU like better. Long or short?! Here is the before and after pictures.

BEFORE

AFTER

The best news of the day; however, is Hyrum got a job!!!!!!!! He was applying for places relating to his computer science major trying to find programming opportunities. In Rexburg, it was pretty hard being a small town, but after 6 weeks of interviews, lots of praying, and the Lord guiding us, he got it! The company is called Yellowstone Hotel Systems and he'll be programming websites for small hotels around the country. It's in Rexburg so we don't have to move anywhere. We are so extremely grateful for this opportunity. Our testimonies have increased in many ways and our faith has been strengthened. Thanks for all of your prayers on our behalf!

Our Friends!

Hannah Cheney
I've been so blessed with amazing friends through my life. Today my friend Sarah Cheney, her husband Edgar and daughter Hannah came to visit us from Salt Lake. They lived in Rexburg for awhile and then moved away last summer because Edgar graduated and had a job. Anyway, they came to Rexburg today and visited with us for awhile, then they attended the temple while we watched Hannah. We had custard ice cream afterwards and then they were on their way to visit family. It was so fun to see them and I miss them again already! Here are some pictures we took at the custard shop here in town.

Hyrum's Computer Business

Hyrum is such a hard worker. He's a computer science major and works very hard at what he loves doing. He has recently finished his new website www.computerminded.blogspot.com and he's so excited to share it with everyone.

This website teaches some computer principles that everyone should know. He also refers to many websites and free software that will make computer life more simple and more enjoyable. No matter how familiar you are with computers he promises that you will find things you have never seen before as well as many ways to laugh and have fun. He will be updating the website regularly and hope to hear feedback from you.

Along with the website, he just started his own computer repair business called Computer Minded. If you're in the Rexburg, Idaho area and need help he can come to your place to fix your computer or you can drop it off with him. If you're not in the area he can fix it through the internet if you have a high speed internet connection. He charges a reasonable rate and offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee for his work. He is happy to help you with anything relating to your computer. He will answer any email or chat questions you have at no cost and you can chat with him directly from his website.

Anyway, check the site out. It's really awesome! Thanks guys!

Basking in the Sunlight

Sorry I haven't posted for awhile. Nothing too much is going on around here. We are enjoying the long awaited warm weather (although today is raining). We've been able to take walks, play in the park, feed the ducks,
have picnics, play with bubbles, and sit outside enjoying the warmth. My greatest joy is seeing Kyla learn and grow. As she learns and grows, so do I. I grow right along with her. The funnest part about being a mom is seeing her discover new things...even if she gets in trouble doing it. For instance, as we speak she just got into the food cupboard, pulled out the taco shells and starting eating the whole thing! She looked at me, bit the taco shell with a loud crunch and said..."Mmmmmm". How can you not smile and love being a mom after that? It's just a little thing, but those little things are the best parts about being a parent.

Anyway, here are some recent pictures.

Playing with bubbles. She looks scared of them in this picture but she loves it!

Riding a horse in the park.

Playing in the park.

Kyla trying to ignore the camera.

Getting in trouble. She likes drawing pictures with markers so when I wasn't looking she drew on her face! I still can't decide if it was accidental or not.

My friend Angie took these pictures of Kyla. She's a photography major and needed some people for her portfolio so this is a few that she took. She did a great job especially in catching Kyla's personality! If you want to see a bigger picture of it you can just click on it.

Which Hair-Do Is YOUR Favorite?

Kyla doesn't have a lot of hair, but she has enough that I could do something with it; sometimes it just gets out of control! We had some fun today and yesterday playing dress up and playing with each others hair. I took a picture of all the hair styles I could think of for a 1 year old with very little hair and here is what I came up with. Tell me which one or ones are your favorite and any suggestions I could do to make her hair look better! With bows, without, curly, etc. Oh and the pictures aren't the best either because she was always moving but these are the best ones I could get.

CURLY--Got it wet, put gel in and scrunched. Result: cute little natural ringlets!

STRAIGHT--I must say this is my LEAST favorite do. She has a mullet and it's so long if it's not curly. Do I need to cut it?? I took a straightener to her hair here so it NEVER looks like this thank goodness. We don't want a hick!

PIGTAILS--Since she has a lot of hair in the back the pigtails are in the back and a little on the side. If you look at her face straight on, you can't really see the pigtails but the back looks cute at least!

Top PIGTAILS--Pigtails on the top of her head
PONYTAIL--Ponytail on the top of her head.

PONYTAIL--with bow

PONYTAIL--back of head

Which is YOUR favorite?!?!

Also, I surprised Hyrum today and got him Mario Kart Wii. He's been having his eye on this game for a REALLY long time (it just came out in the US a couple days ago but he's been wanting to get it since he first knew it was going to be coming out)and he totally deserves to have something fun. He's been so busy (busy as in I would hardly ever get to spend time with him!) with school these last couple semesters that I felt this would really let him know how much I appreciate all the hard work that he has done in school, work, and as a husband and father. You're the greatest Hyrum! I love you! Hope you enjoy your new game! If any of you have this game, we'd love to be able to play you online! Comment me with your numbers or email me and we can have some parties! :)
