See the Resemblance?

From the moment Tayven entered our lives we saw a striking resemblance to his older sister Kyla.  What do you think?  As he is getting older though, he is looking more like his own self.  These pictures will help you see how much they do look a like and yet how they look just a little different too.

A Week Full of Firsts

This week has been awesome!  My mom and brother came up to help out with the new transition from one to two kids.  Kyla loved having them around and being spoiled by her Grammie.  I was able to get lots of rest and didn't have to worry about any cooking.  After a bitter sweet goodbye, they left earlier this afternoon to head back home.  Thank you SO much mom for coming and helping out!  We miss you already.  Here's some pictures of everything that went on this week.

We came home from the hospital Monday morning and my grandparents from Canada came by for a quick visit.

Kyla helped with Tayven's first bath!

My brother Aaron was Kyla's favorite person and best friend this week.  He took her outside to play with bubbles...

...and chalk...

...and he even played with play-doh with her!  What an awesome uncle!  He even chased her through the store a few times, played barbies and had a tea party with her.  Now you see why he was her favorite?  She definitely gave him lots of sweet hugs and kisses this week!

We also had brother/sister bondng time!  Doesn't Kyla look so big and grown up?!

Tayven went on his first outing. We went to visit Daddy at work, went to lunch and to DI (Kyla's suggestion.  hehe)

We also took a walk in the park which was Tayven's first ride in the stroller.  He loved it and it was nice to be outside for a bit.

Here's all of us at the park!

Update

I know everyone has been asking to see more pictures of our sweet little Tayven so this post will be full of pictures that we've taken recently.  Tayven is such a good baby!  He hardly ever cries and when he does it's such a soft sweet whimper.  He's a very good eater and sleeper.  In fact he won't only sleep all day but a couple nights ago he slept almost all night!  He only woke up once to eat which seemed amazing to me!  Last night he woke up twice to eat which still seems pretty good.  Now, on to the pictures!

A Beautiful Son-Day Morning

Well, he's here! Tayven Boyd Denney was born this morning at 6:43 AM. He weighs 7lbs 2 ounces and is 19 inches long.

It was crazy how it all happened and here's the story. About 3 AM this morning Amiee started having contractions 3-6 minutes apart. She wanted to be at home as long as possible so we waited until it the contractions started hurting. We left our apartment about 6:20 AM and half way to the hospital Amiee's water broke. I stepped on the gas and sped the rest of the way to the hospital. We pulled up to the emergency entrance and by this time Amiee was screaming. They had a hard time finding our preregistration information but at this point it didn't really matter because the baby was coming! Three nurses literally ran while they pushed Amiee down the hall in a wheel chair. By the time we got Amiee on the hosptial bed the baby was almost here. Luckliy the doctor was already at the hospital and just down the hall. Two pushes later Tayven was born. The time was 6:43 AM. We could hardly believe it. All is well with mother and child and we are thrilled to have a new member of the family. Welcome to the world Tayven!

Mothers Day!

Before I talk about mothers day I just wanted to say that unfortunately, there's no baby yet!  I guess I'm about to prove my doctor wrong....of course!  I just learned my lesson on completly trusting a doctor. :) hehe.  (I guess I technically still have 3 days left until my due date so I could still have him before then.  I guess we'll see!)

I had a fabulous Mothers Day!  Hyrum seems to ALWAYS spoil me on occasions such as these.  In fact, he's soooo good at spoiling me that he does sweet things for me on a daily basis.  I am so blessed with an amazing husband!  He surprised me with a new laptop!!  He got the most amazing deal on it and it's just perfect!  Besides that he wrote me a sweet note, and chased Kyla around the whole day which is in and of itself the best Mothers Day so far!  I seem to get so exhausted these days that I can't keep up with Kyla so he was a huge help (and has been this whole month)!

I love being a mother.  It is the best thing that I have ever done.  It seems like even though its been the hardest thing, it has also been the biggest blessing and joy in my life.  I wouldn't want it any other way.  Thanks Hyrum and Kyla for the best Mothers Day ever!

Update

This little guy is coming soon!!  I had a doc appt on Thursday and he said I was at 4 cm and 80% effaced!!  He said that he doubts I'll make it to my due date.  With the contractions I've had today I know it's getting close. :)  Just wanted to share the news.  Wish us luck!!

2 weeks to go!

HERE I AM!  Round, Plump and ready to go!

Only 2 more weeks left until our little Tayven's here and boy am I ready as ever!  I wouldn't even mind if he came....today!  Wishful thinking, I know but I can hope can't I? :)  Doc says everything is on schedule and looking on time so I doubt I'll go hardly any earlier than my due date.   I am 2 cm dilated though as of Thursday so I guess I could technically go at anytime.  Keep in mind I was 2 or 3 cm with Kyla for about 2 1/2 weeks or so before I actually went into true labor so that's why I'm not expecting too much to happen.

Nothing much is actually going on for us. We have everything set up and ready to go for Tayven.  By that I mean, the car seat is set up in the car, we got a nice dresser with all of his cute clothes folded and neatly put away, the cradle is set up in our room, the bouncer and swing are sitting and ready to be used, we have about 4 packs of diapers which will last a couple weeks, the hospital bag is packed, and our apartment has been cleaned and sanitized about a hundred times and I feel like it still needs more (Motherly nesting instincts kicking in??....definitely!)  The only thing that really needs to be accomplished is cooking a few extra meals and putting them in our freezer for those days I KNOW I'll need them the most.

Other than that, I've been uncomfortable, having many restless and sleepless nights and just waiting.  :)  I'm definitely not complaining though.  I wouldn't want it anyother way.  I really do enjoy being pregnant!  Kyla, I think, senses that Tayven is coming soon and knows that there will be lots of changes upon his arrival because she has been quite stubborn in the "going to bed at night" department lately.  She just won't do it!  She has been improving the last few nights though so hopefully it will continue to get better and it won't be so hard for her...at least until her brother arrives.  Then we can at least have an excuse to why her behavior is the way it is! :)  Until then, I'm blaming it on her going through a growth spurt (which I think she is) and her somehow knowing that Tayven's coming soon.
In the meantime, she's just as cute and smart as ever.  The other day she grabbed some of her alphabet letters, brought them into her room and totally almost spelled her name!  She grabbed the letters K Y L and A, lied them out on her bedroom floor and said, Kyla!  She did this all on her own.

Well, she at least knows what letters are in her name and knows how to read it if I write it for her.  I guess she just needs to work on the order!

Take our poll on when you think this baby will enter the world.  Kyla's due date was Dec. 31st and came on Jan. 1st if that helps you decide. :)  The winners will get a high five!
