Which Hair-Do Is YOUR Favorite?

Kyla doesn't have a lot of hair, but she has enough that I could do something with it; sometimes it just gets out of control! We had some fun today and yesterday playing dress up and playing with each others hair. I took a picture of all the hair styles I could think of for a 1 year old with very little hair and here is what I came up with. Tell me which one or ones are your favorite and any suggestions I could do to make her hair look better! With bows, without, curly, etc. Oh and the pictures aren't the best either because she was always moving but these are the best ones I could get.

CURLY--Got it wet, put gel in and scrunched. Result: cute little natural ringlets!

STRAIGHT--I must say this is my LEAST favorite do. She has a mullet and it's so long if it's not curly. Do I need to cut it?? I took a straightener to her hair here so it NEVER looks like this thank goodness. We don't want a hick!

PIGTAILS--Since she has a lot of hair in the back the pigtails are in the back and a little on the side. If you look at her face straight on, you can't really see the pigtails but the back looks cute at least!

Top PIGTAILS--Pigtails on the top of her head
PONYTAIL--Ponytail on the top of her head.

PONYTAIL--with bow

PONYTAIL--back of head

Which is YOUR favorite?!?!

Also, I surprised Hyrum today and got him Mario Kart Wii. He's been having his eye on this game for a REALLY long time (it just came out in the US a couple days ago but he's been wanting to get it since he first knew it was going to be coming out)and he totally deserves to have something fun. He's been so busy (busy as in I would hardly ever get to spend time with him!) with school these last couple semesters that I felt this would really let him know how much I appreciate all the hard work that he has done in school, work, and as a husband and father. You're the greatest Hyrum! I love you! Hope you enjoy your new game! If any of you have this game, we'd love to be able to play you online! Comment me with your numbers or email me and we can have some parties! :)

What a crazy couple of weeks!

So first of all, THANK YOU for all of those who came (or even just wishing you could come to help) to help with moving/cleaning/watching Kyla during all the craziness of changing apartments! We have finally got everything moved and unpacked and it's slowly starting to feel like home again. I'll post some pictures of what the new place looks like pretty soon.

I haven't posted pictures in awhile so there is quite a bunch of them, please forgive me! Anyway, the pictures will tell you what we have been doing for the past couple weeks. These pictures also are a typical day with our little nut case Kyla. She's hilarious!

Kyla likes to help Daddy shave!
Kyla trying to get dressed on her own. She walked around the apartment like this for 1/2 hour!
Kyla definitely loves books! She has about 6 books around her and looks at all of them.
She has only a diaper on, Dad's tie around her neck, a toothbrush in her mouth, and a balloon in her hand...where does she get this stuff??
Kyla is playing with her best friend Gracie in the park. She loves to play with Gracie and gets really excited when she gets to play with her! Not to mention, I am happy when I get to hang out with Gracie's mom, Diana while the kids play together! Love ya Diana!
I had the bottom drawer underneath the stove open for a minute and Kyla crawled in within a split second and played with the pans.
We attended Heidi's (Hyrum's younger sister) graduation from BYU-Idaho this past week also. Congratulations Heidi! A few weeks ago she also announced to everyone that she is having a baby!! She's due the end of Sept and we're so very excited for all the new things happening in their life! Here we are cleaning our old apartment. Kyla really likes to help out.

Kyla watching Barney on the laptop when she was sick of cleaning. :)

Here's Kyla on top of a high shelf in our new apartment. She loved it up there!

The high shelf.
Kyla taking a bath with a cute little curl on the top of her head. (Sorry about the colors on some of these photos. I haven't had a chance to practice one of my new found obsessions of editing recently.)

Well that's about it. Oh I guess the other thing that recently happened is that Hyrum was called and sustained to be the new Elders Quorem president in our married student ward. It'll definitely keep him busy! He's learning a lot already, but he'll do so great! I'll post again soon...hopefully! :)

Help with Moving

We are moving on Saturday!! We're so excited but we know it takes a lot of work. If any of you who are in the area wouldn't mind helping us, that would be so awesome! We are probably going to mostly need help Sat. afternoon about 1. You can come to our apartment in Heartland #104. If we can get lots of people to help it won't take very long at all! Also if you want to help clean that would be great too! We'll probably do some cleaning on Sat but it will mostly all need to be done on Monday so if any of you would rather help clean that would be greatly appreciated too!! Again, the more people there is, the faster it will go! Anyway, please let me know who would be willing to help. Thanks everyone!

Another New Found Obsession....

PINK and BROWN!!!!!!!I've always liked the color pink; although it's never been my favorite color and I've never really ever liked the color brown. But for some reason recently I have been obsessing over the colors pink and brown together!! I know it's a pretty popular thing right now and I LOVE IT!! I want to do a pink and brown theme when Kyla gets a little older for her room and I have even been wanting to make a quilt or a dress or anything that has those colors!! I have been so in love with those colors recently. Anyone else like those colors as much as I do?

My mother in law is always so sweet to me and I mentioned this obsession to her the other day in casual conversation. She ended up getting me some pink and brown scrapbooking paper and set which is sooooo cute! I'm more motivated to get some scrapbooking done now. Thanks Mom!! You're the best!

Wow! I love editing!

I have found a new loved hobby--photography and editing! Although I have always enjoyed photography, I never really got very into it. I am not very good at all which has been why I haven't done a lot of it. I am not creative enough I guess to get the cool angles or the unique ideas I've always imagined, and I don't have the right camera to do a lot anyway. Well yesterday I took a few shots of Kyla and used a few simple editing tools and for one of the first times ever I LOVED what I did! What do you think?? Don't get me wrong, it's definitely NOT professional by any means, but for me, it's a HUGE improvement and it gives me more motivation to keep trying this photography thing out!

Hyrum and Kyla had a daddy-daughter date a couple weeks ago. As you can see they played in the snow!! She definitely loves the snow. That smile is priceless!

One other thing....American Idol has been going on for a few weeks now and I just have to say that my favorites are David Archuleta, David Cook and Carly Smithson. I hope any of those three win it! They are absolutely AMAZING and so inspiring! Good luck to my 3 favorite American Idols!

I love Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter! Saturday morning the Easter bunny came and Kyla had so much fun looking at what was in her basket. She was so excited in fact (as well as Hyrum and I were) that we all opened our easter baskets with our PJS on! We then hid a few eggs around the house and she went for an easter egg hunt and had so much fun putting them in her basket after she found them all! Her favorite part about Easter though has been the candy and chocolate. Her breakfast on Sat was definitely candy...oops!

On Sunday we went to church of course and then decided that we needed to take some family pictures, so we made our own backdrop and here are some of the results! We've been playing around with a little photo editing too so it's been fun. (see here for the free website we use)

We then had Easter dinner with Hyrum's grandparents and family. It is always so much fun to get together with lots of family!

All in all, we had a wonderful day and a wonderful Easter! More important than knowing about Easter eggs and candy on Easter though is knowing that Jesus Christ Lives! He had suffered, died and has been resurrected for all of us so we can live with him again. That is why I love Easter!
